750mL | 14.0% | 100% Nebbiolo
Earthy soil tones, pear, leather, hint of mineral on the nose. Medium light bodied, very mineral driven, lovely drape of dark fruit on the palate. Slightly smoky, fine length, fresh, hint of fruity sweetness.
Umberto Fracassi is from the ancient town of Cherasco, not far from the more famous Barolo town of La Morra. Umberto, now in his late seventies, is actually the 'Marchese' of his town, very apt indeed as Barolo is the 'Wine of Kings, King of Wines'. His personality is reflected in his wine - warm and humble, but with underlying complexity and great aging potential.
