750mL | 13.3% | 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc

Cedar, sandalwood, leather, hint of vanilla, dried cherries, cinnamon, and clove. Pronounced earth and graphite notes. Bright acidity, powerful tannins. Bone-dry and very bold. Great for Bordeaux lovers, and a great vintage for Sierra Foothills reds.

CULT WINE ALERT! California winemaker Gideon Beinstock re-labeled and re-released wines from Renaissance Vineyard and Winery, a historic property owned by the Fellowship of Friends, an international religious organization (translation: a cult). Beinstock left Renaissance in the early 2000s because he felt that because the Fellowship was a non-profit organization, they had no need or desire to run Renaissance like a business. He began his own label called “Clos Saron”, which largely produces the same style of wine
as the Renaissance wines, mainly with Pinot Noir and Syrah. He bought back some of his favorite cuvees and re-labeled them “Taken from Granite”, but
the corks still says “Renaissance”.
