750mL | 14.5% | 60% Grenache, 35% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre
Spicy cherry, raspberry and blackberry with herbs and anise. Silky, luscious, yet firm tannins. Fine, spicy, rich fruit bursting with flavor. Top choice with lamb and savory dishes.
Wine Spectator described Stéphane Ogier’s wines as “dynamic and elite”, while Wine Advocate wrote “the estate is unquestionably in the top handful of domaines in the Rhône Valley”. The family used to grow apricots, then fortuitously changed to grapes. Such was the quality that, until 1982, they sold all their grapes to top estates Guigal and Chapoutier. Stéphane took over from his father in the late 1990s, added extensively to the vineyards (he owns 10 hectares in Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and Saint Joseph) and built himself a modern cellar.
