750mL | 12.0% | 100% Melon de Bourgogne
You often hear that Muscadet - the dry white made from Melon de Bourgogne near where the Loire River enters the Atlantic - can age. "can" vs "should" is an open question, but time in bottle has worked some magic here.
Bold aromas of lime, white flowers and beeswax lead to a bone dry, almost salty, palate of green apple, white peach and nectarine fruit. Cracked-rock minerality, mouthwatering lime and green peach finish. A pot of mussels and/or a dozen oysters and a bottle of this would be pretty damn perfect. Genuinely interesting and extremely crushable.
